Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every 10th December. It is the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, made the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This Universal Declaration of Human Rights empowers us all. The principles enshrined in the Declaration are as relevant today as they were in 1948.

The theme of this year’s Human Rights Day is “Youth Standing Up for Human Rights”. The Unite Nation thinks that the participation of Youths is primordial to a durable development, especially that the participation in public life is a fundamental principle of the Human Right. In fact, the youths wish to be heard as concern the difficulties that they go through, so that the decisions that could be taken thereafter could positively impact their lives directly or indirectly.

It is important to note that youths have the potential with their positive youthful energy to bring political, economic and social transformation in a country if they are well taken care of or well oriented. When youths are fully given their rights, they have the capacity of transforming the world with their innovative ideas. Give the youths means to know their fundamental Human Rights and you get a positively transformed world in return.

It is important not to forget that a lot of youths do not know their fundamental Human Rights. Instead of taking advantage of them and marginalizing them, their governments, especially governments of the developing countries will gain more in teaching them and protecting them. It is based to it great importance that the United Nation decided to celebrate the 10th December of every year, since its adoption in 1948 as the international Human Rights Day-All men were born free and equal-
