BLODDY WEEKEND IN THE WEST AND N W REGION

After an attack by the secessionist that killed 5 persons in Galim Western Region on Saturday 7^th March, it was an explosion that happened in Bamenda chief town of the North West region during the International Women’s Day. The attackers took advantage of the fact that there was blackout in the town of Galim due to an electrical fault to attack a Gendarmerie Brigade and a police station. “Our forces are in search of the attackers who from every indication were out to seize weapons and ammunition from the forces,” the governor said.

Report says that about 40 gun men lunch the attack on bikes. They killed 5 uniform men, injured many civilians and made way with guns and cases of bullets Galim is a town in the Western Region near the North West region.

The next day which was the International Women’s day, there was a bomb blast at the commercial avenue in Bamenda North West Region where the ceremony of the women’s day was supposed to take place. The improvised explosive device went off near the grand stand were the when the Governor of North western Region Adolf Lele L’afrique was pronouncing his speech. Many people were injured and one person is reportedly dead. The women’s day march pass was at first interrupted, then later went on. With the Governor leading the women.With an explosion of an Improvised Explosive Device, it is clear indications that the situation is getting out of hand.
