CAMEROON: 43 DIE IN BAFOUSSAM LANDSLIGHT

Researches have been interrupted in the catastrophe scene in Gouache quarter Bafoussam 3 district due to heavy rains that fell last night in the western Regional capital. So far 43 corpses have been extracted from the rubles already and about 100 families are rendered homeless.

President Paul Biya reacting to the October 28th Bafoussam catastrophe has sent 200 million to assist the victims in the trying moment. The president precise that 100 million be given to the 50 families that lost their love ones and 100 million to help the homeless families who have to relocate.

Many reactions have been heard from all directions since that sad Monday night in Gouache, Bafoussam. The Head of State tweeted to express his sympathy to the bereaved families, same like many opposition political party leaders reacting naturally to criticize the lapses of the government. The area was not a suitable place for construction in the first place. Some say, but the government was very laxest when people started settling in the there. “This area is a very swampy area, meaning that people should not build here. … this is a land slight which occurred two days ago, and from all the studies, it is possible  for another land light to occur in the shortest possible time. Meanwhile the traditional chiefs and clergies of the area are preparing to hold a meeting in view of a move to the disaster scene in a very nearest future to perform some cleansing traditional rites.
