The 3 years old sociopolitical crisis that has wrecked the Southwest and Northwest of Cameroon has sent waves of consequence of various sort to all other parts of the national triangle, even abroad.  The first impact that is felt by everybody in the country is that of an increase unemployment. The Cameroon development co-operation (CDC) that was the second employer in Cameroon after the state with 22 000 workers, and 7000 working for the banana plantations only, has been shut down by the secessionist.

In the beginning of the turmoil the plantation still kept on though production was dropping already, because it was found in the region concerned with the unrest. Soon work had to halt completely as Ambazonian fighters invaded the plantation in the Musaka and Massanja villages in the Tiko sub division, Southwest Region of Cameroon, mutilating workers who were found working at the time. 79 in total carry sever scares in the day of today.

While the C D C banana factory in Tiko stays close, it is the economy of the country that is losing enormous sums of money. 32 billion francs in the year 2019, not forgetting 500 000francs that the company was supposed to be making every month. According to the Cameroon Banana Association, in the French acronym (ASSOBACAM), banana production in the company has drastically dropped. From 120653 tons in 2015 to 113858 tons in 2016, to 94528tons in 2017, to 34953tons in 2018 and worse of all, no provision is made for 2019. As it stands, the only savior of the  banana name, in a country once world leader of the product is Plantation des Haut Penja (php) in the Littoral region.
