CAMEROON: BOMB EXPLOSION IN DOUALA

There was an explosion in Bonaberi at the Douala 4 district, Wouri subdivision yesterday night, 18th November. The blast seriously injured two persons that were passing by at the time. An eye witness said that the bomb exploded at about 11pm yesterday night. “The explosion cut off the leg of a man who was carrying a bag passing near there, and another person was seriously injured on the eye” the witness said. This area of Bonaberi is a densely populated area where there is a lot of buying and selling.

The bomb blast was precisely at the “Rail market” in Binaberi at the road leading to Bonaendale village where the city’s slaughter house is found. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the explosion. This is the first time the economic capital is witnessing an explosion within the spiral of insecurity that has been going on in the country. In the past there have always been explosions, about four, in Yaounde the political capital of the country, apart from the restive English speaking Regions.
