In the night of Wednesday August 7 2019, a fire incident was registered on the major electricity supply facility in the Melen neighborhood in Yaoundé. This incident has plunged a greater part of the capital city in a complete blackout for more than two weeks now. The deafening outcry of city duelers on the devastating consequences of this situation in their daily life has force members of government concerned to be on their feet. In a press conference held in Yaoundé this Thursday 15 August 2019, government spokesman Minister of Communication Rene Emannuel Sadi and his colleague of energy and water resources ELOUNDOU ESSOMBA Gaston announce to the population that energy supply will henceforth be rationed among the different quarters in the country’s capital city, even though measures have been taken for engineers to put all hands on deck so that power supply should return to the city as soon as possible.
