Lawyers of the two trouble regions, Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon picked up a strike action yesterday against a bill tabled in the house of assemble stating that judgment in Cameroon can be pronounced in either of the national languages, French or English. The law practitioners precised that the country has two distinct judiciary system in the two regions of the count. The common law in the English speaking regions of the country and the civil law in the French speaking regions of the country.  Saying that judgement in the country could be read in any of the two official languages comes to mean that, a French speaking Magistrate could pass judgement in the Anglophone zone to a citizen who does not understand what he is saying. Which could be tantamount to putting the innocent in jail and setting the culprit free.    The Lawyers say that they could not accept that this bill be enacted into law because it could bring much problems in future. It should be recalled that what has become the Anglophone crisis today that has caused more than 3000 death, hundreds of  internally and externally displaced people,  and is dragging down the country has as one of its triggering factor the common law lawyers in the Anglophone region striking in 2016 to call the government’s attention to have a proper consideration to their judicial system. However, latest development tells us that the tabled bill has been withdrawn.
