
CORONAVIRUS CONFIRMED IN CAMEROON

The minister of public health Dr. Manaouda Malachie has confirm a case of COVID – 19 in Cameroon. A Communique signed this morning explains that the virus was detected on a 58 year old French citizen who arrived Yaounde on the 24th February 2020. The communique says the active surveillance system put in place by the country since outbreak of coronavirus made it possible to detect this case. The French man was immediately place in solitary confinement of the Yaoundé Central Hospital for appropriate treatment.
The Minister of Public Health reassures the public opinion that all measures are been taken to assure by the Government to contain the possible risk of the spread of the virus. As such the minster urges everyone to respect hygienic rules. A toll free number 1510 has been given to report any new case. Talking to the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), the minister presiced that the virus does not yet constitute a serious menace as to perturb the smooth running of the CAF African Nation Championship, (CHAN) to hold in Cameroon from the 4th to the 25th of April 2020.
