COTE D’IVOIRE: GUILLAUM SORO UNDER INTERNATIONAL ARREST WARRANT

The former Ivorian president of National Assembly, Member of Parliament and candidate to the upcoming presidential election. Mr Soro was expected in his country Cote d’Ivoire yesterday afternoon after 6 months absence. Suddenly while above the Abijan sky, the politician’s aircraft was noticed to have change direction. People thought that it was the government that stopped the plane from landing but information got from the Ivorian civil aviation authority says that it was Mr Soro Guillaume himself who ordered the plane to change the direction to Akra Ghana where he landed at about 2:30pm yesterday afternoon from Bourkin Faso. Later in the evening the country’s attorney general Mr Adou Richard announced on state television that Mr Kigbafori Soro Guillaume was under an international warrant of arrest for attempting to destabilize the country and for embezzlement of public funds. Report from Radio France International says that the politician’s sealed by authorities and even his brother was not allowed in.
