Residents of Buoye in Kisumu County, Luanda in Kenay are deploring many material loss following destruction caused by floods from rain that has been falling heavily in the country since April 22. River Luanda has swollen and over float its banks submerging houses and destroying crops. There has been reports of animal and human lives loss since the beginning of the floods.

Residents of the lower Nyando are fear for their lives as after River Nyando broke its banks and submerged over 50 percent of Ahero shopping center that is found in the stretch to Lela area along the busy Kisumu-Nairobi highway. Resident declare that these floods are the worse the area has wildness in a long time.

The chief of Lela said more than 800 houses are affected at the Kanyumba village in the Nyalenda slums. The over flooded Lake Victoria will leave the area with an outbreak of waterborne diseases looming after many homes have been over flooded. Displaced people in the affected areas of Nanga, lower Katuoro, Kapuothe and Dunga areas are now calling for help. There are reports that about 22  people are reported missing too.
