GENDARME OFFICER KILLED IN A FIGHT IN FINEXS TRAVELLING AGENCY

A gendarme officer was killed in a fight that engaged him against some workers of the Finext travelling agency yesterday in Douala.  Coming back from a mission in Buea in the southwest Regional capital, the uniform officer was heading to Yaoundé. At the stop in the traveling agency’s branch in Douala he felt like easing himself which he did at the agency’s toilette, but he was asked to pay a sum of 100frs cfa after he finished, just as it is asked from all public users. The passenger was ready to pay but he did not have coins, instead he had a note which he needed to make some change. It was at this point that a verbal argument break between the officer and his colleague against workers of the agency leading to a fight between the two men and 12 workers of the traveling agency.

In a video that has gone viral (visibly taken from surveillance cameras of the agency) it can be seen that the offices who are not in uniform were being molested by several workers of the agency, until the point where one of them grabs a piece of wood and hit the man on the head from behind. At this point the officer helplessly fell on the grown.  Taken to the military hospital, he unfortunately died on the way, but his colleague is still in the hospital though in a critical condition.

After the happening, 3 persons including the chief of the agency were arrested by the Douala based national gendarmerie who when to the spot for investigations. Report says many other passengers said that they were not respected by workers of the Finex travelling agency in several occasions when they choose the agency for their trips. As it stands, Finex travelling agency has been sealed till further notice.
