RUSSIA CLAIMS TO HAVE DISCOVERED COVID VACCINE

President Vladimir Poutine yesterday 11^th of August 2020 made a public announcement that his country Russia has discovered a vaccine for the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.  The President said on television that the vaccine which has been named SPUDNIK V has already been administered to one of his daughters. It is worth noting that Russia started using this vaccine to its population after less than two months of clinical trials on humans. It will be put in circulation as from the 15^th of January 2021, but already more than twenty 20 billion dose has been ordered by more than 20 foreign countries.

The World Health Organization has however shown some reserve as far as the discovery is concerned but they precise that they are working closely with Russia. “Discussions are ongoing with respect to WHO prequalification of the vaccine, but again prequalification of any vaccine include the vigorous review and assessment for all required safety and efficacy data”. Top WHO official said. Russia has so far not published any detailed studies of the medications results. The vaccine which was named SPIDNIK V in reference to the Russian satellite will still have to be submitted to face 3 of the clinical tests, which is the last.
