SPORTS: INDOMITABLE LIONS BLOCKED IN MAPUTO

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon that worn the Mozambican national team yesterday in Maputo were block in the airport as they tried to board the plane to come back home. After the match of the 4^th day qualifier of the African Cup of Nations 2021, which was worn by Cameroon 2 – 0 (6 – 1 on aggregate), the team and delegation was already in the airport when they noticed that they could not fly back home because the Camair-co aircraft that brought them could not take them back because it did not have fuel. The Mozambican  authorities wanted the money for fuel wired to their account instead of buying it cash.

As a matter of fact, the fuel for that air craft was supposed to be bought by cash from Cameroon before the plane reached Mozambique. But the Camair-co management failed to do that, while in Maputo, they tried to buy the fuel cash but the Mozambican refused. One of the footballers even tried to handle the issue by proposing to pay with his credit card but the attempt was refused by Mozambicans. So the players finally went back to their hotel rooms where the passed the night, of which the program was to comeback to Cameroon immediately after the match.

The players complained that they were not well treated when they arrived Mozambique for the match two days ago. They reached Maputo at 11:30 pm, but they were left stranded in the airport for 3hours before a bus was sent to come and pick them up to their hotel. This situation does not only show a lack of courtesy that the Mozambicans have for a visiting country, Cameroon, but it will also perturb the flight schedule of Camair-co back home. Passengers who had booked their flights for today with that aircraft will be force to miss their different appointments since there will be no plane to fly them as Cameroon Airline Cooperation has just one rented air craft.
