The Zimbabwean government has rejected a letter sent to them by a collective of Roman Catholic Church Bishops in which they are denouncing the alarming level of corruption, poverty and gross Human Rights abuses in the country. “There is no political crisis or otherwise in Zimbabwe” the Zimbabwean Secretary for Information Nick Mnangagwa declared. He accused the collection of bishops to have lease with the group of people who are looking for means to create crisis in the country. The 7 bishops from villages and big towns of the country had last Friday called for an urgent attention to the economic issues of the country that has led to the increase of poverty and insecurity and even food shortage.“ corruption has reached and alarming level” they said.

Zimbabweans themselves had started protesting against the alarming corruption and poverty level and an aggravating economy crisis in their country with an inflation level that had gone up to 700%. President Emerson Mnanganwa has accuse the opposition to be working with foreign countries with the aim to destabilize his country. He called them “rotten apples”, and warned that he will fish them out.

However, his government has received serious critics for manhandling and arresting public protesters. Hopewell Chin’ono, well know journalist in the country was accused last month of provoking public violence when he denounced corruption in the ministry of public health during the purchase of medication for treatment of coronavirus. This warrant him an arrest that still keeps him in custody till now.
